ABOUT US

Based in Tamworth, we are a not-for-profit group

for anyone who would like have fun,

and improve their self-confidence and communication skills.

We work towards a live performance or short film,

which we share with family and the local community.

The company was founded in 1998 to tour the one-woman play Against the Wind by Therese Collins, which one of our actors had originally played for Pentabus and New Perspectives rural touring theatres.

In 2000 Shoebox became an association run by its members, and in 2008, it was registered at Companies House as a not-for-profit community interest company, with member-directors who continue to manage the company on a voluntary basis. There are currently six directors, three of whom are professional performers.
