Shoebox Theatre was founded in 1998 to tour the one-woman play Against the Wind by Therese Collins, and in 2000 became an unincorporated association run by its members. In 2008 Shoebox was registered at Companies House as a community interest company with director/members who managed the company on a voluntary basis. Shoebox ceased to be a comunity interest company - CIC when it was recognised as a charititable incorporated organisation - CIO in 2013.

Over the years Shoebox has taken part in events such as St. Georges Day performing in open public spaces (The Mummers Play). They have also been able to use locations such as Tamworth Castle and Whittington Barracks to perform projects devised in the Drama group session which is for all ages enabling them to join intergeneration projects such as The Wall with Fired Up Theatre which was performed at Tamworth Assembly Rooms.

Here is a Tamworth Local History comic produced by our 2015 Youth Drama Group

We have a YouTube channel which also shows more videos of projects Shoebox members have done.
