WORKSHOPS FOR ELDERS

for day centre groups and residents in care,
our workshops use theatre games and exercises to inject a spirit of fun
which
is of particular value to those who have a degree of confusion and dementia.
Those
participants whose condition is quite severe are especially helped.
Interacting
with our practitioners, volunteers and each other, and participating in
games,
storytelling
and simple performance activities gives people a sense of achievement.
Above
all, our activities offer manageable challenges in a safe environment,
with
people who accept them as equals and value what each brings to the experience.
There
is a great deal of laughter and group support - often people who rarely
respond to their surroundings will surprise their carers and fellow residents
by joining in with enthusiasm.
